Cinnamon City

A metropolis policed too long by the overstretched Security Forces, and constantly influenced by an underground organisation known as the Kamari. Cinnamon City has a central core that dates back several hundred years. It is known as the Old Quarter. The outskirts have been extended and modernised with commercial and business districts. A high crime rate still plagues the city even after several crack downs and there is a general feeling that the Security Forces are not in full control.

A machine or droid made with nano-scale engineering techniques.

Nano-grade weapons

Nano-grade weapons are weapons that are built on nanometre scales using components that are (one-thousand-millionth of a metre wide). These weapons are small enough to attack biological cells or individual molecules. They can attack from within rather and can be far more difficult to detect or combat than conventional weapons.

Nanopatch

A pool of black sludge that is made out of billions of nanomachines. Nanopatches can be used to digest enemies or to transform living matter into inanimate objects. In modern times it has been used to carry out assassinations. During the Iridium Wars they were used as vast lakes that could be placed in the path of advancing enemies.

Net-feed droid

A net-feed droid is a swarm-capable information gathering autonomous droid that began as military hardware but was licensed by Mekinet News for an undisclosed sum during a time of great upheaval in the Security Forces. Some said it should never have been sold to a commercial news agency; others said that the Security Forces' huge deficit was reason enough to find additional revenue streams from licensing of non-lethal technologies. A net-feed droid has the appearance of a silver spherical raindrop with trailing thin metallic arms on each side. Consisting largely of sensors, communications and navigation equipment, the droids are relatively simple units. There true power comes from their swarm capabilities. Up to 250 net-feed droids can act as a single swarm using a Drop Ranger as a relay station. Net-feed droids have sophisticated damage avoidance systems left over from their military origins but they have no armour or weapons capability since this was removed as part of the licensing agreement between the Security Forces and Mekinet News. The net-feed droid's small thin arms are limited in use but can carry up to 100 kg of cargo. Multiple droids can work together to carry heavier loads but this is not their primary purpose and they can be cumbersome to coordinate when using their short arms.

The Orange Room is the largest conference room in the White Spear. A large crystal table sits at its centre, and the north-facing glass wall looks out towards the Great Lakes and the Orange Groves beyond.

Orange Zone

The Orange Zone is an area of several hundred square kilometres. It can be loosely defined as all land that falls under the protection of the Dome Shield. Its capital is Cinnamon City.

Panther droid

Panther droids are long range cargo carriers that often travel in groups. Their body's consist of a configurable number of spherical cargo pods that are linked together and hung between four loping legs. They are capable of following a predefined route autonomously, but they are usually accompanied by a pilot who sits on their back. Most Panther droids have some kind of small manually operated weapon so they can defend their cargo from possible attack.

A personal force field surrounds the wearer with a sensor field that detects high velocity projectiles and slows them down using a repulsive M-force

Pilot cab

The section of a vehicle where the pilot sits.

Plasma grenade

A small hand-held grenade that can be detonated with a configurable timer control. When detonated the grenade generates a short intense plasma field and wraps it in a powerful magnetic field until it is superheated. This all happens within a few thousandths of a second. The magnetic field is designed to fail almost instantly, releasing the plasma field and allowing it to expand rapidly. This causes a sudden burst of intense heat and rapid expansion of the surrounding air, leading to a high powered compression wave that is highly destructive to all surrounding objects. Plasma grenades are graded according to the power of their detonation. Grade E will blow concrete walls apart up to a range of three metres. Higher grades have a rising scale of destructive power. Grade A can take down buildings over a five hundred metre radius.

Restricted access net

Part of Central Command's internal information systems. The restricted access net contains documents that are only visible to the officers of Central Command.

Roach

A Roach is a small land based vehicle built for speed and manoeuvrability. It lacks armour and has no weapons systems. It is generally used as a short range vehicle for transporting soldiers over short distances that are difficult to navigate or too dangerous for larger vehicles. It runs on six short legs so is ideal for muddy or uneven terrain, and its small size allows it to enter small spaces or travel through narrow access routes.

Rotohawk

A cage carrier, ground based vehicle that consists of a pilot cabin at the front and a personnel cage at the back. The cage can be used for transporting prisoners, but often it is also used to transport Security Forces during combat operations.

An orbiting platform that is capable of storing power and delivering satellite strikes towards ground based targets.

Satellite strike

A high power weapon that can strike from an orbiting Satellite Platform.

Security Forces

The Security Forces are the combined military forces that support Cinnamon City and the Orange Zone. They are governed by the Council of Lords, and their main strength is based in a set of towers known as Central Command. The Security Forces are responsible for the protection of the Orange Zone as well as maintaining public order and applying law enforcement. Many believe that the Security Forces large remit and limited budget leaves them overstretched and open to corruption.

Scatter range

Upgraded impact pistols can be configured to fire a single cylinder projectile splits into twelve separate rods. These rods strike the target across a large area that is described as the scatter range.

Shinara

An industrialised area in the South. Mekinet News has a high security facility in Shinara where it maintains its net-feed droid hangars.

A mountain range in the south of the Orange Zone.

Southern Territories

The Southern Territories lay south of the Skybreaker Mountains. Dry planes stretch for many kilometres, interrupted only by the dark stained holes that are the entrances to fless caves.

Squid droid

A type of droid that has many thin silver arms that can be used to discharge electricity into its enemies.

Scorpion droid

An outdated combat droid that has to be manually operated. The droid is controlled by tall handles that are mounted on each side of the pilot's seat. Scorpion droids have powerful front claws and can launch electrical strikes from the tips of their tails.

Toruk Powder

A stimulant used in the Southern Territories to keep the mind alert and the reactions fast. On long shifts in the fless caves it could mean the difference between life and death.

Urwax

A military droid based on similar schematics to Bordox.

Walker

A Walker is an upright heavily armoured weapons platform that walks on two legs. During combat it will mostly be stationary to aid with balance during explosive attacks or heavy impacts but it can walk and fight if necessary. Walkers are rare, highly expensive and generally considered to be too vulnerable to air attack. In ground-based warfare they can be a powerful and deadly opponent.

Wasp Drone

A small flight capable drone that is used for short range combat operations and patrolling the airspace around Central Command. Wasp Drones have transparent, flexible wings that oscillate at high frequencies to generate lift. Wasp Drones carry medium grade air to ground weapons as well as air to air weapons. They have no pilot cabin so must be operated remotely by an implant, but they do have a personnel cage in their abdomen and can be used to transport small numbers of Security Forces.

War droid

A droid that has been designed to fight in wars.

War Lord

A Lord that believes in the use of power to destroy those that are weaker.
